Where the permit data comes from

Every record on HostRadar comes from a government open-data portal: Metro Nashville (Residential Short Term Rental Permits), the City of New Orleans (STR permit applications, non-commercial licenses, active licenses) and the City of Seattle (Short-Term Rental Licenses). We store the record as published, a normalized copy, and the score we compute. Each lead links back to its source.

We do not enrich Seattle records with names from King County or Washington State sources. Seattle leads are address-level only.

What we collect from customers

  • Email address (sign-in is a magic link; there is no password).
  • Company profile you type into Settings, used to write letters.
  • Billing is handled by Stripe. We store Stripe's customer and subscription ids, not card numbers.
  • Lead statuses you set (new, contacted, won, not a fit).

What we collect from visitors

If you request a sample report we store the email, company, city and buyer type you enter, and we may follow up once by email. We do not run advertising trackers.

Letters we generate

Letters are drafted by an AI model from your company profile and the public permit record. The permit record and your profile are sent to the model provider for that purpose. We keep the generated text so you can reuse it.

If you are a host

You can remove your address or email from every customer's feed at /optout. It takes effect immediately. HostRadar never calls or texts anyone, and customers agree not to use our data for autodialing or SMS.

Not a city service

HostRadar is an independent company and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any city or permitting authority.
